Intro: Meeting Start: Base COB
Scott Lucas initiated pledge of allegiance, Father Lockwood led our
shipmates in prayer.
Invocation: CDR Young initiated a round table of introductions.

Reading Of
Secretary Minutes: Officiated by Scott Lucas. Tim made a motion to accept
the minutes and Patric seconds the motion. All in favor.
Treasurers’
Report: Officiated by Dick Hauck and discussed the current finances. Steve
made the motion to accept the minutes and Tim seconds the motion. All in
favor.
Storekeepers’ Report: No report, looking into base patches and hats. Will
report at next meeting.
Discussion/issues: Initiated by Cincinnati Base Commander, Officers &
Members.
1st order
of business: Next meeting, where & when? The next meeting will take place at
American Legion Post 72, Mt. Carmel, at 1200, 22 March 2003. Fr. Lockwood
looking into April meeting site at Ryans in Greenhills.
2nd order
of business: Parade participation, St. Patrick’s Day parade, March 16, 2003,
Opening day parade, 31 March, 2003. Memorial Day parade in Cheviot.
3rd order
of business: Looking for Vests, $35.00 from Indy Base supplier, Dick to get
samples and prices.
4th order
of business: Discussion on placing an ad in the national convention handout
book. Size of ad, full Page, ½ page, ¼ page. Convention is the first week of
September in Reno. Tom made a motion to pay for the ad with split the pot
money. Open for discussion. Ad with USS Cincinnati and national science
discovery center. We will not get involved with either one for the ad at
this time. We will just reference bringing sub to the city. Mike second. All
in favor.
5th order
of business: Brenda Collier was recognized for here outstanding work on the
web.
6th order
of business: Individual pictures will be taken after the meeting for posting
on the web site.
New
Business:
Patric
brought up the submarine ball in Indianapolis, wanted to know if anyone else
was going.
Patric
asked for volunteers to make a presentation for educational purposes of
submarine stories.
Dick Hauck
made a motion to start a base library. David Boehmker volunteered to be in
charge of the library. Mike seconded the motion. All in Favor. Would like
to have list of available books on the web site. Looking for people to loan
books.
Dick
presented a letter of recommendation for an award for Art Randall at the
Reno Convention.
The base
thanked Father Lockwood for the use of his parish hall and the food he
provided.
Tim
requested to know if any ladies were interested in starting a Ladies
auxillary.
Terry
mentioned he was working on a tolling of the bells for lost shipmates at the
Newport Freedom Center on May 24, 2003.
CDR’s Call
for the “Good of the Order”: None
50/50
Raffle: Congratulations to Dick Hauck for winning the Cincinnati Base’s
50/50 raffle. The raffle generated $58.00 for the base fund and Dick won
$57 which he generously donated back to the base.
