Indy Base Ball: All individuals that attended stated that it was a great event, a total class act. VCDR Terry Diehl brought in a copy of the program for all to view.

Picnic: To be held June 28th @ Lake Wynoka (lots of activities). Info on the location was passed around as well as directions. Keep in mind that we need additional tables/chairs & grills etc. We will determine food needs at a later time.

Parades: 4th of July is out for now, but be prepared for the Memorial Day parade in Cheviot.

Vests: Still no concrete information yet, still looking.

Ships Bell: Thanks to VCDR Terry Diehl for taking the time to obtain our base bell. We are currently looking for a quality engraver to engrave our base bell.

Member Drive: To all members, keep looking for new members and keep our base going.

Sponsoring a Boat: Our base is currently in contact with a member of the USGN Ohio in reference to sponsoring this particular boat.

New Business:

1st order of business: (Today’s visitors) Patricia McGaffrey – Press agent from the local Press papers doing an article on our base and members. Any one interested in providing information or stories, please do so. Thank you.

WO Mike Clements & LTJG Belinda Whittey from the Sea Cadets joined our meeting and did a brief presentation of what the Sea Cadets do and what they represent.

2nd order of business: VCDR Terry Diehl is in the process of organizing a special “annual tolling of the bell” ceremony at the Northern KY Liberty Bell. Details to follow.

3rd order of business: Pictures. Any new members that are here today, please stay to take a picture afterwards. Also, we will send out an e-mail regarding the scheduling for the Memorial Day parade.

4th order of business: The next meeting will be held on 24 May 2003 @ 12 noon at a location to be determined via e-mail.

A small note to all. We want to thank the Mason VFW for allowing us to hold our meeting at their location at no cost. We must keep in mind that when these locations allow us to hold our meetings at no cost, they tend to expect us to stay around and eat and maybe have a couple of beverages (i.e.: beer, wine or soft drinks etc…). The Mason VFW had made a ton of food for us (although we did not know about this until it was too late and most of our members had gone home), and only a handful of people stayed around to eat. The food was very good at that. Please try to keep this in mind for future meetings and allow yourselves and spouses to plan ahead so that we can try to keep the base costs down by eliminating the need for meeting location charges.

CDR’s Call for the “Good of the Order”: No information in this category today.

50/50 Raffle: Congratulations to Bill Schaefer for winning the Cincinnati Base’s 50/50 raffle. The raffle generated $53.00 for the base fund, and Bill won $53.00.

Closing: Great attendance and thank you to all. Let’s continue to build our membership and keep all current members interested. Tim made the motion to close the meeting and John seconds. All in favor.

Final Benediction

Meeting Adjourn Time: 1334
