USSVI CINCINNATI BASE MEETING / Christmas Party December 17, 2006 12:00 Noon at Jim & Jack’s
* Meeting was opened with Prayer followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to our Flag. * We then had The Tolling for December Boats. * Report of Base Ill : Lesta Loerich & Mom Kaye * Base Sailor of The Year Award was presented to David Ashley. ( 1st Runner-Up Galin Brady - 2nd Runner-Up * Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. David Self ) * Treasurer’s Report: Balance as of today is $ 2,831.00 * NEW BUSINESS: a) A flier about the Drawbridge in renovation was passed out to all present. b) April 28th is the USSVI Central Region District 2 Convention / US Submarine Birthday Ball, A flier was given to those interested in going. c) Update on USS Cincinnati Sail Project ( a meeting is scheduled with Hamilton County Commissioner ) d) Reminded everybody that the deadline for paying dues for 2007 is December 31, 2006. Report from Connie Moore shows that we still have approx. 36 that have not paid. e) Chivo Reunion is 9/27 - 30, 2007 at Airport Holiday Inn in N. KY, Contact: Stan Pollard f ) Report of Ballot Committee shows : 34 Ballots received ( 2 No Name ), vote was unanimous for all who ran for Office. There were 24 Members who sent their dues to Connie Moore thru this mailing. g) Remarks about the 2010 Convention: Need some Committee Chairpersons & Committee Workers. Tim Rich is Chairman. * Base Change of Command: We held the Installation of New Base Officers. David Ashley Conducted the Oath of Office. * Introduction of New Officers: Base Commander: Crombie Jr., Roger Membership: Moore, Connie C. Sr. Vice Commander: Young, Richard L. COB: Gudorf, Dale H. Secretary: Moore, Connie C. Storekeeper: Campbell, Theodore H. Treasurer: Hauck, Richard C. Chaplain: Ashley, David B. Webmaster: Ashley, David B. Newsletter: Self, David * Comments from Incoming Commander: Crombie said he had a hard act to follow. He Thanked Dick Young for doing such a great job as Base Commander. Said he was looking forward to work- ing with everyone this coming term. Also Thanked Dick for all the support he has pledged to him in they way of future advice and a helping hand when needed. Crombie said he wanted to continue building on the foundation that Dick has started. * Mr. Howard Stiver spoke to us about the WWII Veterans being transported to Washing DC. * Talked about the status of the SubVettes. It has been said they may hand in their charter, do to lack of participation. It seems that the Ladies feel that they can best help the SubVets by setting in on their meetings, instead of having meetings of their own. If they do so, the Cincy SubVets would like to have them as Associate Members. * A great meal was had by all present. There were a few nice door prizes and our 50/50/ drawing. * Our January meeting is on the 24th at VFW in Middletown, Ohio at 12:00 Noon. * Being no further business to come before this meeting a motion to adjourn was made, 2nd & passed.
