Present:  Rogie Crombie B/C, Dick Young V/C, Connie Moore  Sect., Dick Hauck  Treas., Dale

          Gudorf  COB, Ted Campbell  S/K, John Madoffori  S/K  + 16 Members ( 2 were New  Members )

          + 6 Visitors.

 

 Call to Order by Commander, Roger Crombie.  Opening Prayer by Jon Reiter followed by the 

    Pledge of Allegiance to our Flag.

Introductions :  All present stood up and introduced them selves.  Had some guest AND 2 New

    Members present.

Sick Call :   John Barker had stomach Surgery March 6th, doing well.

Lost Patrol (Deceased Members) :  None

Secretary’s Report  (Connie M.) :  a) Secretary was not present due to other commitments.  Minutes

     were recorded by Mary Jane Hauck.  Minutes were read, motion to approve by Ted Campbell,

     2nd by Jon Beiter, carried.  b) Correspondence :  Received two forms, one for participation in

     Memorial Day Parade.  One for participation in 4th of July Parade.  After some discussion, a

     motion was made by Dick Young to set out the Memorial Day Parade and to participate in the

     4th of July Parade, 2nd by Connie Moore, motion carried.

Treasurer’s  Report ( Dick Hauck) :  Ending balance as of December 2006 was $2,855.08.  The first

     three months income was $705.00 with bills totaling $899.17 for 1st. 3 months.  Balance as of

     today $ 2,660.91. 

Newsletter Report  ( David  Self ) :    No Report / Not present

Web Page Report ( David Ashley) :    No Report / Not Present

Old Business :  a) USSVI Central Region Dist. 2 ConventionZion, Ill on April 28th .   They

     have extended the deadline for reservations, it is now March 27th.  b) Search for a permanent

     meeting location.  Daryl Beiter not present.  Commander, Crombie asked the membership

     what they thought about this location (VFW Post 4363), for a permanent meeting place.   All

     present agreed that it is centrally located – in a room to ourselves which means less noise,

     and the Bar is close.  Dale Gudorf made a motion to have permanent meetings at Post  #

     4363, 2nd. by Gus Kraus, motion carried. Crombie & Young will speak to those in charge

     of the Post.  c)  Status of the SubVettes – will meet with them right after this meeting.

     d) Tolling of the Bells :  Will be on May 27th., working on a Speaker.  e) 2010 Convention :

     will be in September.  Crombie reported that due to work schedule & other commitments,

     Tim Rich is stepping down as Convention Chairman.  Commander, Crombie will now chair

     this Committee.  He said he hopes that Tim can maybe help in other ways.  There is a meeting

     on Saturday, March 31st.  with the N. Ky. Visitors Bureau and Drawbridge Inn Management. 

     Meeting will be held at the Drawbridge Inn, starting at 12:00 pm.  Those attending will be:

     Roger Crombie, Dick Young, Richard Hauck, Connie & Jane Moore, Johann Reiter, Dale 

   

 

 

     Gudorf & Walter Kraus, perhaps others.   f )  April meeting date has been changed due to

     the original date falling on same date as Dist. 2 Convention.  Meeting will be on Saturday,

     April 21st.  Secretary, Moore informed us that due to a prior commitment he will not be

     present for the April meeting.  Our main topic for the April meeting will be the 2010 Con-

     vention.  WWII Vets want to have a meeting at the 2010 Convention.  WWII Vets are having

     a Convention in 2008 in Louisville, Ky.  It was brought up that we have several attractions

     for the 2010 Conventioners, like WPAFB, Gambling Boat, etc.   Also note that for each room

     booked or people registered, we get a $1.00 refund for the Base.  Can bring our own Food and

     Booze for Hospitality Room, or own rooms, must purchase Banquet food from Drawbridge.

New Business :   a) Reds Ball Game, after a discussion it was decided to book seats for the Aug.

      11th game at 3:55 pm.  Need at least 24 to commit to get seats for $20.00 each.  We will meet

      and go to lunch before the game.   b)  4th of July Parade, trying to get Sub. & Torpedo from the

      Indy Base for the Parade. 

Good of the Order :  a )  Jane Moore has designed Yearly & Life Membership Cards for the

      Cincy Base.  She is donating them.  She gave them to Dick Young who is going to laminate

      them.   So we will finally have a Base Membership Card.  b)  Dick Young is working on

      Recruitment of New Members, he has signed up four (4) already.  Keep up the good work.

c)     Membership Report:  Have 12 that owe National Dues & 15 owe Base Dues.  Have till

April 1st to pay or National will drop them.  They will no longer have access to the Web and will not receive the Submariner Magazine, until dues are paid.  d )  Dale Gudorf, COB has donated a Submarine Book that we are tipping of for $ 1.00 a ticket.  Thank You Dale. 

e)     50 / 50 drawing was won by, Ted Campbell ($54.00).   Crombie asked Connie to bring

      his Sub plaque, Badge , Pin, etc.  that he received last year, when inducted into the Holland

      Club.  Wants Membership to see them.  Maybe consider for future inductions by Base.

Store  Keepers  Report :   Ted has a cloth Sub Service sign that was donated, if anyone wants it

      Let him know.  Trying to reduce inventory.   May get hats for the 2010 Convention.  If you

      are interested in a Shirt, see Dick Young.
